PEMGARDA, an IgG1λ monoclonal antibody1
PEMGARDA is a recombinant human monoclonal IgG1 antibody that targets the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD), thereby inhibiting virus attachment to the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor on host cells.1
PEMGARDA binds to a highly conserved epitope of SARS-CoV-21,2,*
The PEMGARDA antibody has a half-life of 49 days1
*Certain SARS-CoV-2 viral variants may emerge that have substantially reduced susceptibility to PEMGARDA. PEMGARDA may not be effective at preventing COVID-19 caused by these SARS-CoV-2 viral variants.1
